Engem eleve lenyűgöznek a közösségi összefogásról szóló történetek. Hát még, ha arról van szó, hogy 90 család összefogásával felépül egy mézeskalács házakból álló makettváros. Márpedig ez történt: a kilencedik kerületi József Attila Lakótelep (JALTP) lakói – akik közösségi életéről árulkodik az a tény, hogy saját facebook oldaluk van, s melynek fényében különösen szomorú, hogy még a házban felettem lakókat sem ismerem – fogták magukat és legalább húsz házból álló makettvárost építettek, korzózó hóemberekkel, patikával, fákkal, Iparművészeti Múzeummal. Amennyire kibogoztam, az akciót a Napfényposzt oldal indította el, mely a JALTP közösségi életének ütő erének tűnik.

Őszintén szólva meglehetősen irigykedek, hogy ott a távoli – legalábbis tőlem távoli – 9.kerületi lakótelepnek ilyen erős közössége, ereje, öntudata van – amire joggal lehetnek büszkék. Esetleg ha jövőre budai vendégmunkásra van szükségük, akkor a magam részéről szívesen bedobok a közösbe néhány mézeskalács emberkét, hidat, hajót, holdat vagy a budai várat – noha a formátlan céklaszínű mézeskalács puffancsnál eddig még nem jutottam tovább. De ez legalább inspirálna.

I am truly fascinated by stories about community actions – and even more fascinated if 90 families organize themselves and build a Gingerbread Town showing some of Budapest’s houses. But this actually happened in the 9th district of Budapest: inhabitants of the József Attila Lakótelep (JALTP – block house area named after a very famous Hungarian poet) – the fact, that they have their own facebook page can give you an inshight of how strong community they can be – decided to build up a gingerbread town consisting of more than 20 houses, with strolling snowmen, tiny pharmacy, and a tiny model of the Museum of the Applied Arts in Budapest. It seems to me that the community action was organized by the Napfényposzt website, which looks as the center of the community life of the JALTP.

To tell the truth I feel envy, that this distant (well, distant from the place where I live) area has such strong community life, strength and self-consciousness – that they can be proud of.  If next year they need an extra helping hand from the Buda side, I would be more than happy to help with even a tiny-little gingerbreadman, or ship, or bridge, or the Buda Castle – though I have made a bizarre looking something out of gingerbread so far. But this would inspire me for sure.
